This is a toadstool cake I made for my daughter’s 2nd Birthday. I was 8.5 months pregnant at the time and whilst the cake wasn’t really that much work, the party was a little bit tiring and my second bub arrived just 5 days later. So if you’re 36.5 weeks pregnant and over it, just make a cake and have a party and voila!
I took the cake out of the Australian Woman’s Weekly cookbook and added a few of my own ideas like using fruit tingles and musk sticks. It’s literally baking two cakes, one a little larger than the other and sticking one on top of the other.
It was a big hit and I got a tear in my eye when my daughter softly whispered to me ‘Fairies live in there’. Just gorgeous.
