I made this Homemade Toy Story Alien Cake for my nephew’s first birthday. We have the tradition in my family that the 1 year old gets a little cake to themselves to destroy…so cute…that was what the alien cake was for. Ironic, it was also a first for me. It was my first time using fondant, my first time making a cake with more than one layer…and on the alien cake, it was my first time doing a buttercream transfer.
A lot of trial and error but I think they turned out pretty good over all. The transfer was more time consuming than I thought it would be, but I really like the way it turned out…aside from the couple of boo boos.
