Coolest Train Birthday Cake

This Train Birthday Cake was created after reviewing several ideas from this website. Thank you so much for being here.

I made 2, 1/2 sheet cake pans to make this train. It was huge! So it totals a full sheet cake. I covered them in homemade buttercream, colored with gel coloring, (the best thing ever invented in cake land.)

The smoke stack is partly marshmallow treats. That made it a lot easier to decorate. The hardest part of this cake was filling it with a fresh strawberry filling I made. It wanted to oooozze out the side. After filling them, I did a crumb coating with buttercream, and chilled before coating again with colored buttercream.

The piping on the cake makes it really look like a train, not to mention all of the candy. I did something for the wheels that I thought of on my own, I used Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, and Rolos.

This cake was the hit of the party, the kids and adults alike loved it. And it was delicious.
