The bottom of the treasure box cake is made with multiple sheet cake layers. The top of the treasure box is a cake board cut to fit perfectly. Wooden skewers are used to help support the weight of the top and keep it propped.
The rounded part on the top of the treasure box are ho-ho’s that are put into place before frosting. The wood grains are made by running the tines on a fork through the frosting.
