When my daughter was turning 6 she wanted a Turtle Cake Idea, so I stacked two 10in round cakes on top of each other and shaped them like a ball then placed them on a layer of rice crispy treats to look like the bottom of the turtle. I frosted the shell with homemade frosting.
Then for the head and legs I put some fondant over rice crispy treats. For the sand look around the turtle I used gram cracker crumbs. It was a big hit!

I have a question, in making this turtle cake, how do I make the shell look rounded at the top and have the texture that this has, it looks bumpy, please let me know, also, what did you use between the layers of cake, icing?
