I have the most beautiful boy/girl twins called Ellis and Evie who have just had their 2nd birthday. Both of them are absolutely mad on Peppa Pig so I decided to make a Peppa cake for them both. I have made ‘standard’ round/square cakes before with icing and a few decorations but have never made an actual character.
For this homemade twins 2nd birthday Peppa pig cake I made two 8″ round sponges and used templates to draw the shape of the head, boots, ears and dress. I cut each template out then cut each piece in half and filled it with jam. I coloured butter icing to cover the head, dress and boots and then coloured white rolling icing for the muddy puddle, eyes, arms and tail and the surround for the nose. I was so impressed with the way it turned out and it was a massive hit with Ellis and Evie – plus it tasted lovely – what a bonus.
