For my daughter’s 2nd birthday, we decided to throw an Under The Sea theme party, complete with a Pirate Treasure Hunt, Sea Crafts, and plenty of fun filled fish games.
I ended up renting cake pans from the Bulk Barn (very inexpensive) and baked one vanilla and one chocolate cake. While the cakes were cooling I decorated the cake board with blue tinted butter cream frosting. I then put the two fish cakes on top and started the fun part! Bringing these fishes to life!
I used several different piping bags all with different colored butter cream icing and decorating tips. For inspiration I pulled up a picture of brightly colored fish on the net.
From there it was adding the final touches…
Seaweed = green licorice strings
Fish Scales and Eyes = candy coated chocolate balls
Rocks = candy coated chocolate rocks
Air Bubbles = Sour gummy ring
This Under The Sea birthday cake was a HUGE hit at the party! Everyone loved the look and taste of it!!
