Coolest Veggie Tales Birthday Cake

This Veggie Tales Birthday Cake was so easy to make! We used a butter-cream icing recipe we found online. To make their noses we thickened up the icing with corn starch and rolled the noses into big balls. The eyes are raisins! ha ha! and Larry’s mouth is a piece of an index card that I first drew out and then filled in with a black marker.

I cut it out and placed it on the cake. It was fun! I really can’t wait to see what everyone thinks about it at the party! The edges were kind of crumby for Larry so I thinned out the icing with water to do the edges for him. Oh yes and I only used one cake mix to make both cakes. I used a round cake pan and a long rectangular cake pan and it cake out perfect. I was not sure there would be enough batter for both cakes but there was. I used yellow cake mix.

I made this cake for my daughter’s second birthday party. We are having family come in town from other states so I wanted to make it special for everyone, especially Faith my little girl. I am undecided if I will make the cupcakes out of the peas on Veggie Tales but I think that would make it look even better.
