My youngest son has a Luau party every year, well he has for the past two. This Volcano Birthday Cake was for the first year and his third birthday.
To make this cake I placed and iced three cakes on top of one another. After they froze and were firm together I cut around the outsides to make them look like a volcano.
Once that was finished I put a piece of pipe capped on one end, UNCAPPED first in the cake, I did it that way so the uncapped in removed the cake and was a perfect size.
After cleaning the cake out of the pipe I placed it back in CAPPED in first. I then placed the cake on coconut shavings dyed with green food color.
Moments before we took it our we put dry ice and water in it and “TADA”, a smoking volcano cake.
