I made this Homemade Winnie the Pooh and Friends Birthday Cake for my 3 year old son, Jerome Aldo, as he was very eager of any Pooh things. So I decided to create my own idea of Pooh world and friends into a cake.
This is a 3 stages cake. For the top level, I used cupcakes. I used a vanilla and chocolate sponge cake. Each level has 3 layers, white-choco-white, with blueberry and chocolate light “ganache” insert.
The icing I used for the first and second layer is marzipan which is homemade, full of almond powder. Before putting the marzipan layer onto cakes, I spread over the apricot jam all over the cake surface to stick the marzipan on the cake.
Bowl of the cup cakes are rolled icing sugar and formed like a cup using cup cake molder to make sure it will fit the cup cake, then refrigerated.
After the icing is crusted then put the cupcake inside and place the 4 cupcakes in order as in the picture. I used egg white to simply stick the cup each other. Decorate the cupcakes and put the pooh like candle on it.
The letters in front, also used icing sugar and then molded with Wilton molder. Other pooh accessories are ready made from Wilton.
