I made this Yoda Birthday Cake for my friend’s son 8th birthday, he is a massive star wars fan.
Before starting a cake I always look around on similar websites for ideas of where to start –
so here is my cake.
It is an 8 inch Victoria sponge with raspberry jam and buttercream. I covered the cake and a 10 inch board with sugarpaste coloured with dark blue colouring and covered with orange disco glitter for extra sparkle. I did unfortunately make a slight tear when covering the cake but I covered it up with a cluster of stars.
Then made the Yoda free hand from sugar paste. This was easy as most of the body was covered by the brown robe! So I only really had to make his head – I struggled a bit getting the colouring of Yoda correct but settled with teddy bear brown mixed with holly green.
To finish off I then used 3 different sized star plunger cutters. Hope you like it.
I love your cake it looks beautiful! I was wondering, how did you cut ur letters?
Hi Thanks for your comment – I printed out the letters out and just cut them out to make templates hope it helps – good luck with your cake x
