This crown cake was made using 22 cupcakes put together to look like a princess crown. I put icing on the bottom of each individual cupcake to hold them in place. I then iced the main part of the cake as one, but the top cupcakes I swirl iced with tip 32 to look like turrets on a crown. I used piping gel to make the hearts and diamonds look like jewels.
I used a Wilton scroll pattern to give the crown a royal look, and then tip 3 to write her name. I was afraid to cover the board in foil because I thought the cupcakes might slide. After making this cake I now realize that they would not slide, and I should have covered the board with foil.
Thank you for your idea, it will be perfect for my daughter’s 2 year old Princess Theme party this Saturday. I truly appreciate that you took the time to share your “awesomeness”!
how nice…a very cute cake that is not insanely impossible to do! thanks so much!
I was looking for how to do a crown shaped cake without having to buy the crown pan from wilton! You are my hero!
