Living in rural Wyoming, you don’t just run to the store (35 miles away) to pick up a couple things. We didn’t have a lot of money at the time so I used my son’s plastic tractor carrying case and traced the outline of it onto a piece of cardboard. It fit perfectly inside a 13X9 pan!
Then I just looked at the carrying case and used a toothpick to make the wheels and windows for it. I used fudge frosting and black food coloring to make the wheels black. I made the cake two layers, both yellow and used green icing in between. Everyone loved the cake and thought it was so creative. It took me a while to get it all together but I love to see how far I can go! My son was so excited about the cake, he made sure all his friends knew who made it! Next year he wants a train cake, so we’ll see!
