My friend’s daughter wanted to have a spa party during the Packers football game – first quarter they would do make-up, second quarter manicures, half-time cake and ice cream, third quarter facials and fourth quarter bubbly juice and relaxing for the end iof the game.
I decided we needed to combine the two themes for her cake, so I made a Green Bay Packers helmet using a Wilton cake pan and a box chocolate cake mix. I didn’t like the way the instructions said to decorate the helmet, so I looked at photos of an actual helmet along with drawings of one and designed my own decorating to make it look they way I wanted it to. I used the star tip and green, white and gold frosting to frost the helmet and chocolate frosting to frost the sides.
Then I made mini cupcakes to frost and spell the birthday girl’s name and age in girlie pink and white frosting and large cupcakes to decorate the corner’s of the board. To finish the look I printed a Packer’s football field on paper, covered it in contact paper and displayed the cake and cupcakes on it along with a football cake topper that I put to the side of the helmet just for show.
It was a lot of fun and the girls had a great party!
