My 3 year old has discovered Bob the Builder via net flix. and LOVES him. This was the theme he picked out, since nothing is available in stores for bob the builder we had to figure it out on our own, couldnt let his first choice for birthday theme not happen.
This cake was made up of two chocolate 9×13 cakes and two white 9×13 cakes, with Rasberry filling in the middle. It has buttercream frosting as a base. the Road is mad if Chocolate Frosting tinted black and crushed chocolate fish crackers. we decided to have the candles be the power polls. we orderd the candles from a candle store and toys from ebay.
This was my first time doing a cake that I had to decorate, so my mother inlaw helped. I made the cakes on Thursday morning and then my husband transfered the Cakes to his moms house to put in the freezer (they are easier to decorate while frozen. Friday morning my mother in law brought them back over to me to Decorate. we made the frosting and tinted it as close to the colors we wanted. (note if you want BLACK frosting use chocolate trying to tint white to black will take all your food color and will make it Grey) We used the Grey frosting to write with and make “sidewalks”.
This was fun and easy. I will try to make all his cakes from now on.
