My daughter loves the Harry Potter series and so she wanted a Harry Potter themed cake for her 6th birthday. I wondered if attempting the characters in icing was a bit daunting, so for the actual “Harry” and friends, we ordered a photo icing topper to save a bit of time, as we have a new baby at our house this year. Vanilla buttercream stars and gold dragees border the topper. We used purple and black edible glitter. We made all the stars and Golden Snitches together out of store bought fondant and dusted them with Gold Pearl dust. For the Snitches’ “wings” we used a leaf icing tip and let them dry before adhering to the cake as decorations with dabs of buttercream icing. For the cake, we used a vanilla mix, but made buttercream icing from scratch. The flavour was Very vanilla cake and very vanilla icing by request. Though at six years old, most of the kids didn’t really know much about who Harry Potter was, the cake was a hit!
Hi, love the cake, was wondering if you are still making them and the price, thanks
