Homemade Pirate Ship Cake

I made this cake for my son’s 3rd birthday! It was pretty easy, I just made 2 9 X 11 chocolate cakes and put one on top of the other with white frosting in between. Then I cut out the front into a point and used the extra for an extra level for the front on the ship. I’m not big on fondante so I just used chocolate frosting to cover the whole thing. I used black icing for the ship windows and yellow icing for the ancor. Used pretzels for the railings. My older son drew the flags on some white felt I bought, cut and attached to white long tooth picks. Found the candles at a local store and put them in at the windows….I think it added a cute touch. Blue colored gel for the water and graham crackers crushed for the sand. Playmobile pirates and extras around the house. Everyone loved it…..especially my son!!
