I used a barbie doll, and I wrapped the bottom half in plastic wrap so she didn’t get ruined! For the cake, I used 2 round cake pans and my kitchenaid mixer bowl. I used 2 1/2 boxes of cake mix (approx. 1 1/2 for the bowl, and 1box for the 2 round cakes). The bowl was baked at 325 for 1 hr 45 min! It took so long bc it was so deep, but it cooked great and didn’t burn. I also rolled up tin foil and stuck it down the middle of the bowl when cooking to create a heat core. The decorations are as shown, and are all edible with the only exception being her pearl belt! I only used one decorator tip, the flower shaped one, to do all the details. If I wanted a bigger flower, like on her back, I just squeezed the tip for a couple seconds longer. Also, before doing the frosting details, I used a plain cream cheese frosting to frost her entire skirt. I then used a toothpick to sketch out her skirt designs. It’s hard to see in the picture, but I also dusted it with gold sparkles so the cake shimmered! Finally, the best part is that my daughter has a permanent keepsake from her cake because once I rinsed her off, the barbie doll was hers to keep!
