Homemade Thomas the Train Birthday Cake

For Thomas, I used the 3D train cake pan. For the other cars, I used a loaf pan. Two of the cars is two layers of cake, the other two cars is one loaf pan layer with three cupcakes on top. I used the oreo 100 calorie pack cookies to look like coal. I meant to place some big oreo cookies on the train cars to look like wheels, but forgot. I used twizzlers to connect the trains. For party favors, each kid got to take home one of the little train cars behind the cake. I purchased a rectangular box chocolate mold, perfect to make little minnie train cars. I dipped different animal crackers into chocolate and let them set up in the box. Then i dipped little pretzel sticks into chocolate and let them set up on the inside corners of the cars. After the chocolate had hardened.. I simply sat the lids on top of the pretzels to complete the cars. My 3 year old loved it!
