My son is allergic to peanuts so I always have to make the cakes for each birthday. He was intrigued by monster trucks when he was 3(and 4) and wanted a monster truck cake. I wasn’t confident enough to attempt to make the cake into an actual truck so I decided on a more simple idea.
I made a white cake in a 9X13 inch cake pan. I frosted it with white frosting but obviously chocolate would work great. In order to make the ramp, I simply made a cupcake, split it into pieces, arranged them into a triangle and frosted them together to make the ramp.
The “dirt” was by far my favorite part. My son was able to help make the dirt which made it more special. I filled a baggie with oreos and gave him a rolling pin. He rolled and pounded until the cookies were all crushed up. We then sprinkled them all over the cake. It really looked like dirt. Trust me, it is a delicious addition to a great cake.
