This Peppa Pig birthday cake was a very special cake. I made this for my granddaughter and the characters on it are her favorite. I made Millie and Molly and Peppa Pig. For her party she had Peppa Pig, Raa Raa and Spiderman.
I made the characters in advance, also made a hedgehog, some trees, a bonfire, some leaves in autumn colors and some fireworks as its her 3rd birthday on 5th November.
Then I baked a 9″ round cake in vanilla sponge and a 4.5″ cake in chocolate sponge. Both these cakes were filled with jam and butter cream and iced in green fondant.
Assembling the Peppa Pig Birthday Cake
Before assembling together the Peppa Pig birthday cake, I added 3 dowels for support. Then I covered the cake board in green. I then made the fence around the bottom tier in brown fondant leaving a gap to attach some yellow fondant for the path and then pipe iced the grass around the two tiers and along the path attaching small flowers I made earlier. Next I attached the fire and the fireworks to the top of the cake. Then I attached some leaves randomly around the sides of the top tier cake.
I now attached Millie and Molly to the front of the cake and attached a number 3 between them. Next I attached Peppa Pig George Pig and a present to the one side of the cake and a hedgehog covered in leaves on the other side. Then I attached the trees and finally a little plaque with a birthday message written on it with a edible ink pen.
My granddaughter couldn’t take her eyes off the Peppa Pig birthday cake, you could tell she loved it. It was a real shame to cut into it, she kept all the figures as keepsakes.
It was so much fun creating this Peppa Pig birthday cake. Good luck with your cakes!
