We used examples on this web site to make our cake for our son’s sixth birthday. We made a sponge cake in a 14″ Wilton cake pan. We used grated white chocolate for the cheese, redish buttercream frosting for the sauce, green colored fondant with lime flavor for the peppers, dried pineapple, sweetened orange peels looked like yellow peppers, and piped black buttercream olives. Our almost 9 year old had a blast making the pizza cake with us. We picked up pizza boxes from our local pizza restaurant. When we entered Chuck E. Cheese with the pizza cake the staff said, “You can’t bring that in here.” But, when we showed them the pizza cakes they ran to show their manager – they loved it.
