First I made a 2 layer square cake, leveled it off into the design of a carriage. I also used fresh strawberries sliced mixture with sugar for the inside layer of the cake for a thick paste along with white butter cream. I used a basket weave tip to make a fence like design around the carriage also a little of pink coloring to make the blanket as well as floral gum paste to place on the sides and on top of the blanket.
The wheels were made out of iced cookies as well. I made this for a friend of my daughter for her baby shower but the bad part was when we all found out that she could not make it to her own shower because of car trouble I felt so bad, but we all Skyped her and the party went on as planed to everyone’s excitement. The guest and family could not believe how elegant the carriage cake looked as well as the mother to be, she was so grateful and honored that this beautiful cake was made for her which made me very proud.
