I recently started making cakes for all occasions when I was asked to make a Spiderman cake for a kids’ birthday party. I was a little nervous at first, because I’m a perfectionist and didnt want to be disappointed with the outcome! But after I caught “the vision” for what I was doing, I was confident that I could do it!
I used a half sheet pan, and golden vanilla cake mix. (I found that this is the best kind to use for a real bakery taste). I made a homemade buttercream icing, and colored it in sky blue(Wilton concentrated gel). Then I sprayed the cake with Wilton’s cake misting spray, in red and blue. I used a Spiderman candle as a centerpiece, and surrounded him with confetti. I stuck some of the confetti into the cake to give it that pop-up look.
This is so easy to do. If you are a beginner at decorating cakes, or are not good at detailed work or piping icing, then this is the way to go! Trust me when I tell you… your results will have you looking like a pro!!
This cake was a hit – now everyone knows your secret!!
