I made this cake for a Tea Party at our local library. The table is a silver compote bowl that I spray painted white. I then baked an 8 ” round cake and placed it on the table and crumb coated it with buttercream. I covered the table with a fondant table cloth that I used an impression sheet on to make the design on the table cloth, and then used a hole punch to punch little hearts around the edge of the cloth. I purchased the tea set at a local thrift store and put a small amount of fondant on the bottom of each piece to adhere it to the top of the table. I also made mini cupcakes iced in buttercream and each one had a little pink rosebud and green leaf on top. I also made pink rose mints from almond bark to compliment the tea party cake. It was a big hit !
Fantastic job Brenda! The Tea Party Cake is so cute!
You are so creative. Your cakes look beautiful and taste wonderful, too!
So cute! I will keep this cake in mind, for my mom’s church requests. I think I will set the table with edible mini mini cupcakes too! Thanks for the idea!
