I did this Garfield Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday because she loved to watch Garfield’s movies. It is very simple; just bake 2 cakes in 2 oven proof bowls and position them one behind the other. Then cover them with butter icing and with a layer of yellow sugarpaste.
For the blanket, roll out another layer of blue sugarpaste and let it fall gently on the rear cake. Use two white oval discs for the eyes, shape and position the ears and roll a yellow sausage shaped piece of sugarpaste for the mouth.
Finally i painted Garfield’s stripes with a little bit of black food colour diluted with some clear alcohol and voila!.
My daughter just couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw it.
Wow, it’s a piece of art. It’s incredible!
Love this cake, wished you lived close enough to bake it for me. It is Awesome!!!!
This is great! It’s exactly what I wanted to do for my daughter’s 1st birthday. Hopefully I can do it. Do a trial one first, just to make sure!
