This Llama birthday cake was made for a lady that owns her own llama farm! I started by baking two 11″x15″ vanilla cakes. I then layered them with vanilla butter cream filling. Using a sharp knife, I cut out the llama. I covered the whole thing with a coat of vanilla butter cream.
I made some homemade marshmallow fondant and covered the feet and face with that and made the little ears, as well. I tinted a small amount of the fondant black to make the bridle, nose and eyes. After placing those, I piped vanilla butter cream with tip #233 to make the fur. I then tinted some of the fondant with rose color to make the blanket. I used a knife to cut the slits along the sides and then placed it on the llama. I tinted some vanilla butter cream with violet and piped the name of her farm and the “happy birthday” with tip #5.
I was told she loved it!
