Coolest Pingu Cake Idea

I saw this Pingu Cake Idea on one of Debbie Brown’s books and wanted to do it for my daughter’s 5th birthday because she loves Pingu. It may seem easy but I assure you that it is a quite difficult cake to prepare.

First of all you should cover the board with white fondant and then cut a piece out in the shape of a puddle. Fill the puddle with blue fondant and place a little red ball in the middle of the puddle. Bake a square cake and another bowl shaped cake for the head. Then you must cut the square cake into three sections and place them on top of each other to create a sort of triangle.

Now you must carve the cake with a sharp knife in order to give it the shape of pingu’s body and open legs. After finishing the carving you must cover the cake with a layer of buttercream and cover it all in black fondant. Shape the feet out of orange modelling paste and when they dry up you can attach them to his legs. Take the bowl shaped cake and try to give it a ball shape. Cover it with black fondant as well and place it on top of the body securing it with a toothpick.

Now you must do the eyes, the mouth and of course the hands. Finally get a piece of thread, secure one of its ends to the end of a long wood stick and the other end to the small red ball and place it between Pingu’s hands.
