I made a large rectangle cake and a heart shaped cake for this Strawberry Shortcake. I used the grass/hair Wiltons icing tip for the grass and the standard star tip for the strawberry. I used melted Wiltons candy wafers and poured them into a silicone pan and before they were completely hardened I cut out leaves with a leaf cookie cutter.
I used mini chocolate chips for the seeds and a pipe cleaner for the stem of the strawberry. I used the writing tip for the flowers.

This Strawberry shortcake idea was for a friend’s birthday. All the decorations are made using fondant except for her teeth which are royal icing. This is a 14×2 bottom layer cake and the Wiltons strawberry cake pan. However, all the features were hand made.

My daughter was having a Strawberry Shortcake party for her third birthday. My husband was set on having the Strawberry Estates cake as her cake. Easy for him, he wasn’t the one who spent nearly four straight days putting it together! Aside from the Strawberry Short cake candle everything is made from cake and/or fondant. The instructions for the cake can be found in the 2006 Wilton Yearbook (Page 33 – Visit the Shortcake Estate). The effort was worth it. My daughter (and husband!) loved it.
